Once you’ve received your kit and completed the swab procedure, the last and very important step is to ensure you activate your swab with the unique barcode you received – before you post it back.
This allows us our laboratory to link your sample to your membership and make sure you we have somewhere secure we can deliver your results. The process varies slightly depending on which product you own, so see the processes below for how to activate each sample type.

If you purchased a Personalised Wellness Kit online
If you purchased a Personalised Wellness Kit in a pharmacy or via an authorised retailer
If you purchased a medications, vitamins, skin anti-aging, or other non-subscription kit
If you purchased a Personalised Wellness Kit online
If you purchased your Personalised Wellness DNA kit online and we mailed it to you, this most likely means you do not yet have a myDNA account or membership plan. An account is required to access the myDNA Unlocked app and view your insights/results. You’ll need to sign up before you can activate your swab
- Head to https://subscribe.mydna.life/ to activate your membership.
- Enter your preferred email address and pick a password, then hit “Create Account”.
- You’ll need to verify your email, and this is where we’ll send you communications such as updates on your sample status so be sure to choose one that you’ll be able to access later (using company or education emails is not recommended as these accounts may be closed later by the managing organisation)
- Your password will need to have at least 8 characters, and a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters.
- Check your emails for a verification code. It should come from the address help@mydna.life and provide you with a 6-digit numeric code.
- The code may take a few minutes to arrive.
- If you cannot find the email, please check your junk and spam folders.
- Once you’ve verified your email, enter your personal details, then hit “Next”.
- On the page titled “DNA Collection Kit” select the “I have a kit” button.
- Do not select “I need a kit”. This option is for people who are yet to purchase the DNA collection kit.
- If you haven’t yet, take your swab sample.
- Do not eat or drink for at least 30 minutes before completing your swab.
- Open the swab tube by holding the white cap. It may require a small amount of force to open, but be sure not to touch the swab head with your fingers as this may contaminate the sample.
- Complete the swab test, making sure to swab for at least 30 seconds on each cheek.
- Fill in your personal details on the barcode sticker. The top (non-sticker) section is yours to keep. Please retain this in case you need to contact customer support. Attach the barcode sticker to your sample.
- Once you have completed the swab process, enter the unique barcode number from your sample into the “Barcode Number” field. Then, hit verify.
- Once your barcode is successfully verified, a message should confirm what type of kit you have.
- If the kit is incorrect, or you cannot verify your barcode, please submit a ticket to our customer support team.
- Complete the rest of the registration process to finish creating your account.
- Note: you will have the choice of 3 membership options, the standard comes at no extra cost but if you choose one of our premium options you will be required to add a payment method to your account as part of activating your membership. This is for the subscription fee, which will only be charged at the end of your free membership period. You will not be charged during the registration process.
- Congratulations! Your account is now registered, and your sample activated. You can safely seal it in the reply-paid envelope and mail it back to our lab. You will be notified via email when your sample has arrived.
- Download the myDNA Unlocked app on the App Store or Google Play Store and log in using the details you just used to register.
If you purchased a Personalised Wellness Kit in a pharmacy or via an authorised retailer
If you’ve bought a physical kit at a retailer, then this most likely means you do not yet have a myDNA account or membership. An account is required to access the myDNA Unlocked app and view your insights/results. You’ll need to sign up before you can activate your swab. Don’t worry – there’s nothing more to pay at this point.

If you purchased a medications, vitamins, skin anti-aging, or other non-subscription kit
If you have a kit that does not require a subscription, you will need to register for an account on our online explore portal. This portal does not have an associated app, and you must activate your swab and access your results online on your phone, laptop or tablet.
Note: The explore portal account is separate from subscription membership accounts. You cannot log into one with login details from the other. You are free at any time to sign up for a membership, even if you already have an explore portal account.

- Enter the unique numeric code from the barcode on your sample into the field. Then hit next.
- If you cannot verify your barcode number, please submit a ticket to our customer support team.
- Select your kit type from the list on screen, then hit next.
- Read the patient consent form and check the box at the bottom to agree, then hit next.
- Fill out the personal details form, including choosing a username a password.
- If you already have an account, use your existing username and password.
- Please note that your username is not the same as an email address.
- That’s it! Your kit is now activated, and your account created. Please securely seal your swab in the reply-paid envelope and mail it back to our lab. You will be notified via email when your sample has arrived.
